     L´image, le malentendu
Something outside of the image, the very essence, emerges through an unusual focus, a shadow or a bright ray of light.
The revelation, the first impression of what lies within „the frame“, is suddenly disrupted by what we imagine is “hors-champ”, by what the lens has not captured.
The mood changes and doubt arises, like a misunderstanding, due to the isolation of details, the exaggeration of contrast and the occlusion of elements that are normally visible.
Reality becomes unreal. Child’s play or drama? Happiness and life become tangible, death seems placid, like a peaceful sleep. Plastic dolls come to life while living bodies seem deathly when they are reduced to disassembled parts.
The first impression of gentleness is replaced by a sense of violence, the longer the observer beholds the image and questions begin to unfold.
The more you look the less you are sure of what you see.
By perceiving the image, the observer may be transported from one feeling to another; from a feeling of satisfaction, happiness and lightheartedness to a feeling of graveness, trepidation and foreboding or "vice versa".
